Vespa Piaggio Typhoon
Please note this is not a toy. The handle bars and stand require gluing into position and the wheels do not rotate.
Vespa scooters and mopeds were made in Italy by Piaggio. Vespa is a division of Piaggio, like Chevrolet is a division of General Motors. In the USA the bikes were branded as “Vespa” but in most countries they were called “Piaggio”. The brand name Vespa was used up to the 1980’s. The original Typhoon was Piaggio’s fat wheeled sporty 50cc. It was sold until 2010. The Typhoon seemed to be a good seller for Piaggio. The styling was edgy and the engine and brakes were able to back up the sporty look. Outside North America, the original Typhoon went on sale way back in 1993, so it’s quite a well established model in some markets. Over 500,000 copies were sold worldwide.
The model is printed and removed from sprue/supports before shipping. This model may require construction. Most models require no instructions as they are simple and obvious to build. For models requiring instructions, these can be found in the images of the ebay listing.
